One Piece - Framestore Show and Tell
I had the opportunity to work on two episodes of the first season of One Piece as an FX artist and TD. I did RnD and built the tool for the Buggy split effect.
The Houdini hda would procedurally split the animated geo wherever the animation team would place cut planes using a rest pose.
The geometry was automatically capped, beveled, uv’d, and the resulting pieces of buggy were then procedurally deformed to any incoming animation.
In a seperate episode, I setup all the shots for the canon explosions during the Mihawk beach battle scene.
